Hello. My name is Ian, and I'm a huge TMBG fan, so it was only inevitable that I join this wiki.
Other bands I like (in no particular order): Modest Mouse, Cake, The Rolling Stones, XTC, R.E.M., Harvey Danger, Beck, Death Cab For Cutie, The Beatles (of course), The Flaming Lips, OK Go, The Shins, The Decemberists, Weezer, Ben Folds Five, David Bowie (came to town, flying overhead), Barenaked Ladies, Some other bands I can't think of
Very underrated songs: Moving To The Sun, I've Got A Fang, Mr. Xcitement, Finished With Lies (a lot of Mink Car), Greasy Kid Stuff, Contrecoup (kind of), Budnitz (points if you've actually heard this song), The Mexican Drill (yeah, you read that right), Bread Hair, and I could go on forever.
Songs I don't like: Mountain Flowers, The World Before Later On, uhh... Glean?
Stuff I wish I had: TMBG Unlimited, 1985 Demo Tape, House Of Mayors
I started listening to They Might Be Giants when I was only a zygote (shoehorned reference definitely intended!) But really, I was pretty young, but I don't remember how old. My mom showed me the wonders of Flood, and I was amazed! My taste in music probably shifted. I would listen to that album every night at one point. My mom then bought No! (yes, I'm young) and me and my brother loved the song Clap Your Hands. I also liked Ana Ng too.
Then I kind of drifted off from TMBG for a while. Until at the end of 2015, I said to myself, "You know what? I'm gonna listen to their new music." The first song I looked to was I'll Be Haunting You, and man, it was a good choice. To this day, every time I hear that song, all the warm memories come back. And then I became 100% engaged with their music. So that's my TMBG biography. Not very interesting, but important to me.
