- Shortly after Beller joins the band, the recording sessions for Here Come The ABCs begin and continue throughout the first half of the year, with the exceptions of "Clap Your Hands", which was previously released on the 2002 album No!, and "Here In Higglytown", which was recorded in 2003 for the show Higglytown Heroes. At the same time, the recording sessions for The Spine continue.
- On Cartoon Network's Home Movies, animated avatars of the Johns (as camp counselors, no less!) perform the songs "Taste The Fame", "I'm Just A Note", "Clean Bean", "Camp Campingston URGR8", and "Rabbit Troop Sucks".
- The Johns make their Homestar Runner debut, providing music for the song "Different Town".
- Indestructible Object is released on April 6th. It contains "Au Contraire" and "Memo To Human Resources", both slated to appear on the full length release The Spine.
