Template talk:Podcast Header

Tour[edit]

Ugh, so what do we do with this TMBG Tour Announcement?--Duke33 14:44, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Let's just leave the podcast header template alone, rather than create a new row for "special" or exceptional podcasts. All it is is Flans listing off some concert dates. ~ magbatz 21:26, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Splitting[edit]

Anyone else think we might want to split this header into podcast and family podcast templates instead of one large one? The titles of the family podcast are making this box large quickly. --badqueso 23:44, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

I agree...The only question, is what do we do about the left nav? Do we split the left nav to "podcast" and "family podcast"? --Duke33 13:10, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
I say yes. Here's my thought basically, a pretty simple split. (This is just the appearance, without the template for creating a new podcast).

Season 1 (2005-06): 1A | 2A | 3A | 4A | 5A | 5B | 6A | 6B | 6C | 7A | 8A | 9A | 10A | 11A
Season 2 (2007): 21A | 22A | 23A | 24A | 25A | 26A | 27A | 28A | 28B | 28C | Tour
Season 3 (2008): Work | 31A | 32A | 32B | 33A | 33B

"See also"'s probably not the best way to incorporate the other podcast, but you get the idea. ~ magbatz 18:21, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, that's pretty much what I had in mind, but I don't know what to do with the podcast link in the left sidebar navigation. Our problem is that if we split the header box, there won't be an easy way to navigate to the family podcast. I don't think adding a family link in the nav would be the best idea. Maybe if the Podcast category was nicer we could link to that, but I like that it takes you directly to the TMBG Podcast page. I suppose we could make that category into a more of a hub or something or even have a page called Podcasts that would have background info on them (which we don't really have for the family one). The quick and dirty solution is to link to the family podcast on the top of the TMBG Podcast page. --badqueso 18:53, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
I totally missed the part about the left nav. A link on the left nav to the Family Podcast would be excessive. I also like that the nav link goes goes directly to the Podcast. And if the only solution then is to have a link at the top of the TMBG Podcast page, why not keep the link to the Family Podcast at the top of this template? (They Might Be Giants Podcast | Friday Night Family Podcast) It would take one more click to get to any family podcast episode, but I think that's worth cleaning up the Podcast Header. ~ magbatz 21:44, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
I just went to this page to say this same exact thing, not knowing it had already been said... the header is just getting too massive... more of a head and upper body... a torso if you will... --antgeth 18:43, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
Do this? Yes?
There's also:

if it's preferred (though I like the first way, shown above this, better). OK. ~ magbatz 22:40, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
I think i like the "see also" way , personally. Someone want to implement it? (I'm fine with either way, really) --Duke33 23:35, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
