My third show, as mindblowing as the previous two! I sadly arrived a bit late with my group so I didn't stand as up front as I'd hoped, but taking a bunch of friends to see them for the first time was really fun. They all had a good time!
Some highlights:
- A spontaneous performance of the song They Might Be Giants by The Audience before the first encore, with Flans joining in (BOY) as he entered the stage
- The band playing along with the fire alarm (which thankfully didn't get us evacuated!)
- Linnell completely dismissing Flansburgh's banter by starting Twisting in the middle of his sentence (and the look on the other band member's faces right afterwards)
- Flansburgh's dramatic twirls during Bills, Bills, Bills
Plus, on a very personal note, seeing my drawing on shirts at the merch stand is probably forever going to be the most exciting thing that has ever happened to me, and my life will basically go downhill from here.
