Trivia/Info

  • In November of 2014, the band released a 3-second YouTube clip of Dan Levine, Curt Ramm, and Stan Harrison (the Tricerachops Horns) performing horns for this song in Pat Dillett's studio. It's still available to view on Flansburgh's Instagram[1] and YouTube (see Videos)
  • Stan Harrison wrote "the big chart moment" for the horns in this song.[2]
  • Video directed by Jeremy Galante & David Cowles, with character design by David Plunkert and animation by Brad Pattullo[3] and Mike Genz[4].
  • The title comes from an album by stand-up comedian and female impersonator Rae Bourbon, whose adults-only, under-the-counter records became a sensation in the 50s after Bourbon claimed to have just returned from having gender correction surgery in Mexico (although it's believed this was a publicity stunt and untrue). However, Flansburgh says, "I took the title as a stand-alone phrase, and used it to create a scenario from it. It’s far away from Rae Bourbon’s ribald double entendre."[5] Bourbon's story is mentioned in the book The Comedians by Kliph Nesteroff, whose work Flansburgh has recommended on several occasions.[6]
