Recorded as a demo according to John Flansburgh^[1], this version does not change styles like the version from The Else; instead it features additional verses to the melody of the album version's first verse. This version would be shortened for live performances in 2007, but the full version would be performed as a part of the band's Quiet Storm set in 2020.
The demo recording also includes a drum loop most likely provided by the Dust Brothers, who helped produce The Else. Other tracks known to have been written over these drum loops were "Upside Down Frown"^[2], "Withered Hope"^[3] and the outtake "Fudge Factory", which would later become "Seven"^[4].
The demo recording was initially shared exclusively to members of the 2019 Instant Fan Club, but was publicly released on the They Might Be Giants App in October 2021.
First performed as part of LEMUR's "Robosonic Ecletic"^[5] series at the 3LD Arts & Technology Center in 2007, where the band performed alongside various robot instrumentalists created by the art group. "Vestibule" and "Our Cannibal Friends" were also performed at these shows.
