Trivia/Info
- This song was written and sung by bassist Danny Weinkauf. On a retrospective song-by-song guide accompanying the tenth anniversary digital reissue of No!, the band said of the song:
Where Do They Make Balloons? was written by They Might Be Giants' beloved bass player Danny Weinkauf, who has contributed songs to most of our kids projects. He is a huge pop music fan, and his Paul McCartneymania fuses with his Brian Wilsonogomy nicely in this track.
- On his website, Danny recalls the inspiration for the song:
It sounds like a fib, but this one came to me in a dream. A couple of hundred kids were all cramped in a backyard singing the chorus - there were balloons everywhere. When I woke up I finished the song.
