Megaforce Records

Megaforce Records was the record label responsible for the manufacturing and distribution of all releases from Idlewild Recordings in domestic markets from 2013 until 2018. In 2013, Megaforce supplanted Idlewild's previous collaborator, Rounder Records. Megaforce was originally founded in 1982 to publish Metallica recordings. Since then, the company has largely maintained a focus on metal artists, such as Anthrax. John Flansburgh has said that the folks at Megaforce "have a great approach to this challenging 21st century music business". After the release of I Like Fun, it seems that Megaforce and They Might Be Giants have parted ways, given that both albums My Murdered Remains and The Escape Team were entirely self-published and distributed by the band.
