Gunnar and Matthew's Giant Adventure is a fan bootleg that circulated in the late '90s. The name was inspired by a Dial-A-Song message in which John Linnell and John Flansburgh are introduced as Gunnar and Matthew, respectively. This message is the first track on the bootleg.

Gunnar and Matthew are the names of the brothers that made up the early-Nineties rock group Nelson.
