  • In November of 2014, the band released a 3-second YouTube clip of Dan Levine, Curt Ramm, and Stan Harrison performing horns for this song in Pat Dillett's studio. It's still available to view on Flansburgh's Instagram[1] and YouTube (see Videos)
  • Stan Harrison wrote "the big chart moment" for the horns in this song.[2]
  • Video directed by Jeremy Galante & David Cowles, with character design by David Plunkert[3] and animation by Brad Pattullo[4] and Mike Genz[5].
  • It seems likely that the title comes from an album by stand-up comedian and female impersonator Rae Bourbon, whose adults-only, under-the-counter records became a sensation in the 50s after Bourbon claimed to have just returned from having gender correction surgery in Mexico (although it's believed this was a publicity stunt and untrue). Bourbon's story is mentioned in The Comedians: Drunks, Thieves, Scoundrels and the history of American comedy by Kliph Nesteroff, whose work Flansburgh has expressed effusive appreciation for[6].
