Kurt Hoffman is a woodwind player who toured with They Might Be Giants from 1992 to 1994, playing keyboards and woodwinds. Hoffman is featured playing on the Why Does The Sun Shine? EP, John Henry, Factory Showroom, Severe Tire Damage and They Might Be Giants In Holidayland. In addition, he has played with Frank Black, Drink Me, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Shannon Worrell, and The Ordinaires. His Band of Weeds had a release on the Hello CD Of The Month Club.

Hoffman opened for TMBG in his current band, Les Chauds Lapins, a few times throughout 2007 and 2008. The band is primarily a duo between him and guitarist and vocalist Meg Reichardt, featuring the likes of Garo Yellin on cello among many others. The band mostly performs historical French songs from the 20s, 30s, and 40s. Both John Flansburgh and John Linnell have stated that they are fans of the band,[1] with JF promoting the band's music on MySpace before a performance with them in 2007.
