John Linnell And The Statesmen
From This Might Be A Wiki
John Linnell And The Statesmen was the touring band for performances from 1999 to 2000 promoting John Linnell's solo album, State Songs. As the name suggests, the band featured John Linnell (vocals, keyboards, accordion) backed by The Statesmen, a group which consisted of:
- Mark Donato - drums, harmonica, backing vocals
- Dan Miller (now a member of TMBG's backing band) - guitar, keyboards, backing vocals
- Mark Lerner - bass, backing vocals
- Bob Stuhmer - Wurlitzer band organ (at the December 11, 1999 Bowery Ballroom show)
- Jay Sherman-Godfrey - guitar (during a January 1, 2000 performance of Montana on Late Night with Conan O'Brien)
In addition to performing the songs live, The Statesmen also provided their musical talents on some of the studio recordings.
