Hello friends and/or enemies! I'm Amelie, but you can call me Ami. Here's some stuff about me...
How I became a TMBG fan[edit]
Ahh, it was August 2026. My parents were listening to their old people music: that being TMBG on repeat one summer eve. So, (being the dork I am) want to learn more about these John fellows. So, we watch maybe 15 minutes of Gigantic.
And from there, I was hooked. Don't Let's Start got stuck in my head, so I printed the tab for guitar, so I started LEARNING it, and then I couldn't STOP listening to it. I listened through disc 1 if Then: The Earlier Years one night in the pitch dark and that was the point of no return. I learned Kiss Me, Son of God on piano. I stalked their tumblr. I obviously grew a minor crush on both of them. There is NO GOING BACK from here.
So yeah. Don't Let's Start, the silly little love song with oddly suicidal undertones (I loved it for a reason, ok??) birthed a whole new obsession for me. And finally, a few last things about me...
- I'm a huge dork, haha. I mean, I'm a TMBG fan, what did you expect?
- I'm an artist! I draw a bunch of TMBG fanart, too.
- Yes, I said it in my userbox, but JF is my favorite John (for now) (because nothing can rival JL's cuteness in the Doctor Worm video).
- The darker Their song is, the better. I'm addicted to songs where They sound 2 seconds away from killing Themselves.
- Snail Shell is NOT about a snail. There are some UNDERTONES OK??
- S-E-X-X-Y is a MASTERPIECE and I will hear zero slander about it (and take my soul John Flansburgh you didn't have to sing it THAT well)
- Greek #3 is amazing. And so is Become A Robot.
