A classic[edit]

I've complained recently of Linnell cramming too many lyrics into a song and there not being enough space for the song to breathe. He does it here and I love it. A great piano riff with the band doing a great job. The drumming is again amazingly well played and recorded. Sung brilliantly, lyrically our narrator appears on the verge of the breakdown. This is a really good song and I really like it. Some luddites on the wiki are always harking back to the days when the Giants were a duo and are critical of the band set up. On songs like this they're proved wrong - a really great band effort - so well done to all involved. (Mr Tuck)

I agree! I love this song, and I think it fits almost shockingly with my work ethic. I relate to this song far more than Brontosaurus. Kind of telling when what I said on the talk page of bronto was me breaking down my fears of never being as good of a fan as most other people, what with live shows. Telling in that I am on the verge of being a mental wreck at all times. maybe I should stop listening to tmbg for a little bit, BOOK in particular, such a hard album to listen to while trying to be an optimist, except I Lost thursday I love that song. Anyways, I should take a voluntary break, from the fanbase in general too. Sorry, Tuck, for this lengthy reply, I just figured out what to do. I'm going to finish up my book reviews on my youtube channel and then take a hiatus from the wiki. No more 20 updates a day on every talk page of me replying to people giving them lengthy diatrives about why I'm at my tipping point. But no one cares, anyways --⇂⇂↋ suᴉɥsuǝZ ʎɯɯᴉᒋ (talk) 08:47, 1 December 2021 (EST)

This really is a great song. I'm still listening to it a lot and it may well be my most listened to song by the end of the Year. (Mr Tuck)

It ended up as number 3 according to Spotify. Top drawer from the Giants. (Mr Tuck)

We didn't NEED a Neck Rolls Lite, but I'm glad that we have it, because it's still a 10/10 song.--You&Me!! (talk) 09:23, 14 October 2022 (EDT)

All the numerical imagery—and, of course, the frantic keyboard and horns and the wobbly "ooo-weee-ooo" background vocals—do such a fantastic job of evoking an atmosphere of exasperation and overwhelmedness. FloridaFlamingoGirl (talk) 10:34, 14 October 2022 (PST)

I was actually pretty disappointed when I first heard this song, since I had been hoping for an album closer in the vein of Best Regrets. After re-listening and considering this song in its own right, I was able to appreciate it. "I took a walk, I got tired and turned around and I got almost home but then I got tired and turned around again" is probably the best lyric on the album. --ColorOfInfinity (talk) 00:02, 15 October 2022 (EDT)
