Talk:Birdhouse In Your Soul (Demo)

From This Might Be A Wiki

Wow, is that really Linnells voice? It sounds more like lemon demon if you ask me. I like this version of the song, at least lyric-wise. It is slightly happier, and I like the line about covering the earth in a dessert. They should consider Recording this onto an album.

This one is weird. But nice. Yeah, I find it hard to believe that it's Linnell's voice. (It does sound like Neil Cicierega, doesn't it?) Maybe the "dessert" part could be cannibalized for another song. --Overjoy 11:40, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
Really sounds like Flans the whole way through to me. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 07:44, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
Same for me, in fact, I had assumed it was Flans up until now...--Luke 17:15, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
You need to take into consideration the fact that most of the bootlegged DAS recordings are pitched up a bit- who does it sound like now? - File:BirdhouseDASpitch.mp3 -CapitalQtalk ♪ 17:31, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
Well I'll be ding-dong-danged, It's-a Mista Leenell-a! :p --Luke 18:18, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

Is the "John Flansburgh interjecting absurd exclamations during the fade out" referring to I don't feel thirty stuff? Because if it is, I strongly think that that too is Linnell, not Flans. --Valerie 22:10, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

Here is it pitched down - File:Idontfeel30.mp3. To me it sounds like JL --liam (wtf?) 22:27, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

-- Are you people hearing the same recording I am? It sounds exactly like Linnell always sounds. It's like the most Linnell Linnell has ever sounded. Seriously, I don't understand this conversation. -Jordan

I love this version; possibly more than the studio one, why in the world have they never re-released this? I would pay almost anything for a real version of this. --Antgeth 04:39, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

Same here. --Dunklekuh81

Van Halen??[edit]

Dammit I thought it was just him being random and silly...this upsets me...Well, it's still pretty great I suppose. --Self Called Nowhere 14:59, 27 February 2010 (UTC)

Fascinating early version of their signature tune. Interesting use of random lyrics until he'd thought of the proper ones. (Mr Tuck)

i can't belive john linnell was actually 30 years old in 1989, what an old man

This made me laugh! --Self Called Nowhere (talk) 00:28, 14 February 2018 (EST)

871[edit]

You know, if John Linnell really wanted to cover the earth with a fresh-baked yummy dessert, all he'd really have to do is keep anyone from eating SCP-871. Within approximately 80 days, he'd have his uninhabitable planet. But then of course as we all likely know by now, the cake is a lie, so it won't matter any way you slice it. --MisterMe (talk) 00:47, 31 December 2021 (EST)

1987?[edit]

I feel like I saw somewhere that this was the "1987 demo", so that might be the year.--You&Me!! (talk) 13:34, 18 July 2022 (EDT)

Was it YouTube? I saw on a YouTube upload someone said they knew the year was 198x and when I questioned them, they said "Well thats just a guess from me, I think it's 198x" :P TitanicFog (talk) 01:29, 19 July 2022 (EDT)
Maybe. Yeah, probably just inferring, I guess. - Ampersand
