These songs were recorded with TMBG's Other Thing backing band at the now-defunct^[1] Kampo Studios in one or two sessions around fall 2003.

This was the first 7" vinyl release from TMBG since 1993, and the first 7" EP from Idlewild.
The labels for this release were designed by Paul Sahre, who also did the art for Join Us. The images in the centers of the labels were selected somewhat arbitrarily from old textbooks.
The image in the center of the A-side label is a photograph of the Russian poet Boris Pasternak.
