Fan Recaps and Comments:
John Flansburgh, reflecting on this concert in 2015:[1]
We did a New Year’s Eve show at the Hard Rock Cafe in San Francisco in the mid-’90s, and we were on a platform raised above the crowd. We were at the height of some of the guitars that were hanging on the wall. I actually took my guitar cable, plugged them into some of the guitars on the wall, and played them! There was one that belonged to Danzig’s guitar player or something. It was very interesting and strange.
Flansburgh ran through some impromptu songs on each guitar, including a short cover of Stone Temple Pilots's "Big Empty". He ended up playing a very out of tune Dave Sharp guitar on "The Famous Polka" and "Dig My Grave".[2]
