Trivia/Info
- Apophenia is the human tendency to perceive meaningful patterns within random data, such as seeing faces or signs in ordinary objects. Many of the song's lyrics, such as "Seemingly random arrangement of turbid material telling what to do" display apophenia.
- Middleburgh is a town in New York, located approximately 30 miles west of Albany.
- This is the curious description of the video on YouTube: "Wide open visual images are a treasure trove of Paul Sahre, Joe Hollier, Chris Smith and others--don't blame them!"
- The music video features pencils and candles growing and shrinking in size. This footage was previously used in the iTunes LP edition video for Nouns, although the candle portion did not feature the "ring" text.
- The music video also features many Dial-A-Song related imagery, the text saying "RING," the text saying "DIRECT FROM BROOKLYN," such as the bell logo, the lines similar to those on many of the Dial-A-Song artworks (although not on the artwork for Apophenia) and one of Dial-A-Song's mottoes, "MELODY FIDELITY QUALITY."
