Description

Upon the release of The Spine, many of the fans were frustrated with some of the decisions that went into which songs made the cut, which songs (in their opinion, superior to some of the album tracks) were pushed back to the EP's, and the general flow (or lack of) between tracks when listening to the album as a whole. After some long discussions and debates on alt.music.tmbg and The TMBG Livejournal Usergroup, Richegreen presented this alternate album - an improvement and replacement to the original Spine album and related EP's.

This reordering was very popular amongst the fans who had the chance to hear it, and many of them included it among their official They Might Be Giants albums (or as an ipod playlist if they already had all of the tracks), some completely replacing the official The Spine album with 2.0.

Trivia

  • The title The Spine 2.0 comes from Richegreen's experimental playlists, which he named Spine 1.1, 1.2, etc. when planning the album.
