Talk:You'll Miss Me
Why is this rated so low? It reminds me of Modest Mouse. --liam (wtf?) 02:53, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
- I don't know. I really like the song too. I don't know Modest Mouse though...
- Yeah I'm pretty pissed, I love this song...
- I honestly think it sounds more like The Residents to me. --ZippZapp 00:58, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
- Seconded--Eraelan 12:55, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
- I think it's just so very uncharacteristic of They Might Be Giants to have such a dissonant, incomprehensible song. I honestly prefer the demo tape version.
- I find the demo version hilarious... mostly because it's completely different to the version on Lincoln and there's just something about the arrangement that cracks me up... --༺༺𝄞𝄆Ⓠⓤⓔⓛ⎈Ⓓⓞⓜⓜⓐⓖⓔ𝄇༻ 01:12, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
- I love both versions of the song. This one squashes the Power Spheres with abandon, but Flansburgh's ridiculous vocals here are a rarity and, to me, enjoyable as a one-off. --MisterMe 21:43, 26 January 2013 (EST)
- I have to agree--I never really cared for the Lincoln version, but the demo tape version is pretty great--though I like the "It must be raining 'cause a man ain't supposed to cry" segment in the Lincoln version better. A shame, really, because it has some brilliant lyrics. -Warhammer Of Zillyhoo (talk) 22:51, 17 July 2013 (EDT)

One of the singers sounds just like Bubs! Hmmmmmmm.........
Perhaps the real love or hate it song of Lincoln. I've always loved it. It seems to best encapsulate a certain king of rage of from a break up. The "miss me so section" is inspired at just moving the song through all the gears in a second. (Mr Tuck)
I just hate everything about this song. My least favorite song of theirs; could never stand it. -ASelfCalledL
Recurring theme[edit]
You'll Miss Me, About Me, I'm All You Can Think About, and I'll Be Haunting You. They all have a pretty similar premise. --ColorOfInfinity (talk) 21:15, 10 July 2020 (EDT)
godley & creme[edit]
the singing in the demo versions of this reminds me a lot of kevin godley's vocals in some godley & creme tracks (particularly "snack attack")
