Talk:Television Appearances

From This Might Be A Wiki

Did anyone see the Grammy awards show the year TMBG won for Malcolm? Did they actually appear, perform, accept an award, etc.?

I always see the picture of everyone all dressed up as if for the show, but haven't seen any mention of them appearing on this site, which seems odd...

I don't believe it was part of the broadcasted awards. -CapitalQtalk ♪ 11:49, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Okay, Guys. The "She's actual Size" Video hasn't worked for months. I need to see it again. I was hoping eventually, it'd be fixed, but it's not. Where is it? Thanks. -"BucketHat" Bobby

I was wondering where we would pu movie appearances. Do we put the here or elsewhere? Where should this go? It mentions Flansburgh, but he doesn't appear in it. krueger

A Blues Clues appearance? That sounds... interesting... Unless this is just talking about that clip of Them playing Clap Your Hands with a bunch of little kids. ~ magbatz 21:55, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

JBTV[edit]

Quick question here - Was tmbg's first live appearance on JBTV really during the year 1991? Because the new album they were advertising was Apollo 18, and it was released in 1992..or am I just overly confused? --GoPalindromeGo 08:37, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

Unknown Doctor Worm Performance[edit]

There is a video on YouTube of an unmarked performance of Doctor Worm on VH1. We don't have this put down anywhere. I'm not quite sure where to put it considering we don't know what show on VH1 it was or what time of 1998 it was. I'm sure though that someone on here will be able to put two and two together. --Goodtimes2(t)

Unknown dates[edit]

Yeh, similar to the above I have a few things discussing the "Boss of Me" video that I have no dates on whatsoever (although I can estimate of course). So...no way to put this stuff up? Can we not just say "unknown date"? It seems a shame to leave them out... --Self Called Nowhere 11:16, 27 February 2010 (UTC)

Alphabetical vs. Chronological[edit]

Also, I noticed that some of these are in chronological order and some of them are in alphabetical order. Shouldn't we standardize that? --Self Called Nowhere 12:22, 27 February 2010 (UTC)

We should, indeed, standardize. When I created this page a few years back, I had songs in alphabetical order, but I think chronological by appearance may actually be a little neater. Something like this, but with songs in performance order in each date section (for The Screen Savers)
But that's just an idea. What do you think would be best? You've got quite a collection of TMBG TV spots. :] -CapitalQtalk ♪ 18:29, 27 February 2010 (UTC)

Hoppus on Music Spoilers for 7/15/2011 show[edit]

I was in the audience for it! They filmed two days ago, July 11th, 2011. TMBG performed Can't Keep Johnny Down and Never Knew Love, in that order, and nothing else. Both songs were filmed. They also did a James Brown-esque (Celebrate Brooklyn 2004) 10 second promo with Mark Hoppus conducting the band for that. Linnell and Flansy were interviewed by Mark (for an hour, I'm sure a lot of it will get cut out), they referenced TMBW, DAS, William Allen White, drawing dicks backstage at venues, Venue Songs, their upcoming tour, how the tour will be international (Japan and Australia were mentioned) and even more. Feel free to ask anything else! :3 -- Jason DeLima - ! - 01:08, 13 July 2011 (EDT)

Wow...what did they say about TMBW? Did Mark ask about the site, or did the band mention it? --Duke33 09:35, 13 July 2011 (EDT)
so you confirmed that TMBG will be on Hoppus this Friday and not next Friday? --Nosaj56 09:58, 13 July 2011 (EDT)
@Duke, Mark asked TMBG how many songs/shows they performed live, Flansy mentioned TMBW as a source (quote for quote, "there's a fan-run database, this might be a wiki dot....something"), saying they did around 2,000 shows and something songs; I forgot the exact numbers he used. Linnell also said they rely heavily on fan input, which may or may not have been tied to TMBW. And @Nosaj, someone brought that up to me too. As they started filming the interview, there was a splash screen on the TVs, noting that the film date was "7.11.11", and the air date would be "7.15.11". So I don't know if it's a fault on the producers's part or if Flansy made a mistake on Twitter. :3 -- Jason DeLima - ! - 12:38, 13 July 2011 (EDT)
It seems there's no confirmation on the Fuse site about the show airing this Friday - though I hope it does. I'm not sure if it's outdated, but the Hoppus site mentions Kid Rock and other guests "this Friday", no TMBG. -CapitalQtalk ♪ 15:14, 13 July 2011 (EDT)
The Fuse site now lists the artists appearing on this Friday's Hoppus show, and none of them are TMBG. --J-Gatz
they're only saying that Red Hot Chili Peppers and Theophilus London are going to be on this Friday's show right now. --Nosaj56 19:02, 19 July 2011 (EDT)

Final Late Night with Letterman[edit]

Okay, after doing some digging I found this recording of Mary Chapin-Carpenter on the Letterman show the same day that TMBG supposedly performed. There's also this site that confirms that date. IMDb even has Mary listed as the act. In my mind, there's no way TMBG played on the Letterman show on 02/19/1993. Logistically it doesn't make much sense either, the date is in this weird period between Apollo 18 and WDTSS? where they weren't doing anything really. They'd be promoting nothing.--Robot Parade (talk) 06:06, 1 August 2024 (EDT)
