They Might be Frank Black[edit]
I really quite like this one. Great riff and guitar/keyboard(?) break. Flans does a good job on the lazy vocal. Reminds me of early Frank Black. One of the highlights of the album. Proper garage song. (Mr Tuck)
- Really? This is one of the songs that, no matter how many times I listen to it, I can't enjoy it (akin to You'll Miss Me and Spy). I find that Flans sounds like he's bored, not lazy. This one and McCafferty's Bib are the low points on the album for me (The "As we float away" part of I Like Fun has gotten stuck in my head for weeks, so they must have done something right).--MidoFS (talk) 19:10, 25 February 2018 (EST)
- This song must have the most mixed reputation forever. I actually really like this song. As an animator, I played the entire I Like Fun album in the background while animating despite not finding it very catchy, and eventually I grew to like all the songs, including this one. But whatever, we all have our opinions. --DoubleDenial (talk) 19:19, 25 February 2018 (EST)
Versatility[edit]
I get a Superchunk vibe. It really speaks to Flans' versatility that he could have a raging rocker like this on the same album as the mellow "This Microphone" and the airy "The Greatest". But we've known this for years...rock on, Flans! --MisterMe (talk) 10:59, 16 July 2018 (EDT)
Very Mono-Puffy Guitar Riff[edit]
"Backstabbing Liar" meets "Hillbilly Drummer Girl"
Video[edit]
The video is super special, integrated with the song in fascinating ways. --Nehushtan (talk) 23:17, 18 August 2019 (EDT)
