Slide Guitar
From This Might Be A Wiki
Slide guitar refers to a technique that involves sliding a hard object (like a metal tube) up and down a guitar's strings as they are ringing in order to quickly and smoothly modulate pitches. This allows for the shaky, resonant vibrato or glissando sounds often associated with blues, country, or Hawaiian music. This technique can be used on any guitar, but some variants, like the lap steel guitar, are designed specifically for sliding.
