Luís Jardim

Luís Jardim was a Portuguese percussionist and producer who was referred to as the "Groove Master." He had frequent appearances on Clive Langer and Alan Winstanley records, which is how he came into contact with the Giants.[1] He provided percussion on the (Langer and Winstanley produced) Mink Car tracks "I've Got A Fang", "Cyclops Rock" and "Bangs".

He has been cited as an incredibly influencial musician, with journalist Warren Huart stating: "From 80s synth-pop to rock and pop royalty, Jardim’s percussion, bass, and production work have helped shape the sound of multiple generations." He had a massive list of credits with many other famous and influential artists including Elvis Costello, The Rolling Stones, and Paul McCartney. Jardim passed away on July 4th, 2025 on his 75th birthday.[2]
