Skipping CD[edit]

Does anyone else other than me think that if you took out the bass, the "in the ju-u-u-u-u-ungle" part sounds exactly like a skipping CD? Do you think it was intentional and it's so bloody obvious that I didn't even need to mention it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.222.172.137 (talk) 14:18, September 23, 2005

On Gigantic, Flans mentioned that when they recorded songs for Dial a Song, they couldn't sustain any notes, because the tape recorder would immediately rewind back to the beginning. So instead, they cut the sustained notes into little stacatto notes. My guess is that this is why they did this. Perhaps this song wasn't made for Dial a Song, but perhaps an ode to the good ol' days of Dial a Song. Tomthefirst 23:59, February 19, 2006

I heard this on TMBG Clock Radio[edit]

I just heard this song on the TMBG Clock Radio. Perhaps I or someone else should add this to the entry? I'm sort of new to this whole wiki community things, so I don't want to make this decision without someone else's approval. Tomthefirst 00:02, February 20, 2006

Yeah, go for it. Just add [[TMBG Clock Radio]] right after the first album it appears on. - Ecks 00:05, February 20, 2006

Downloads[edit]

I wish this song was on the downloads page! I want to buy it!! HP 15:13, April 11, 2006

The Guitar EP (which contains this song) often pops up on eBay for under $10. -CapitalQtalk ♪ 14:27, 11 Apr 2006 (CDT)
Reccomended, the EP has a couple insane remixes of The Guitar, one of my favorite songs.--tehbagel ( o ) 18:32, 4 May 2006 (CDT)

Ever Played Live?[edit]

This is one of my favorite unsung (pun acknowledged, but not intended) TMBG songs. Has anyone ever heard mention of it played live? I would go absolutely nuts if they broke into this song at a concert! -Cronny 14:28, May 20, 2006

Sadly, no - Goodtimes2 15:52, March 5, 2007
What's the pun? Is it "un" in "jungle"? --ColorOfInfinity (talk) 21:44, 4 September 2019 (EDT)
The pun arrives in "Welcome to the jungle, Jim", which is a play on "jungle gym", equipment commonly seen on playgrounds. --MisterMe (talk) 08:44, 5 September 2019 (EDT)
I meant the "unsung" thing.
Oh! Well unsung has its literal, musical meaning, and it also means under-appreciated/under-celebrated. ~ magbatz 11:49, 7 September 2019 (EDT)
Okay, thanks. This song does seem pretty good to just appear on an EP.

2 things[edit]

1. The page currently states that there is a possibility this was inspired by the title of the Guns'n'Roses song. Do we know that for sure? What is the source? I would love to know the history there. :-)
2. Possible song theme of "Altered Voice" with the staccato/choppy Linnell?
--MisterMe 23:52, 18 May 2012 (EDT)

1) There is most likely no relation between the songs. Here's the video
2) If you can find some more songs that share the choppy voice like this, go ahead and make the page. —The thing Talk 10:43, 19 May 2012 (EDT)
1. i believe the point was more that the name of that song inspired john and john to write this one, sort of vaguely similar to the "Doctor Worm"/"Dr. Love" phenomenon. 2. Altered Voice already is a theme, and i believe it is reserved for use of special effects added with fancy equipment rather than a natural vocal effect, which i guess was probably edited to be more abrupt, but i think trimming the end off a clip is too subtle/typical to qualify. -Apollo (colloquia!) 11:08, 19 May 2012 (EDT)

I saw something[edit]

I felt bad casting my rating for 10, because it was in 88th place and it had an average rating of 8.88 Imrustyokay (talk) 20:29, 22 March 2018 (EDT)
