I don't know why, but this reminds me of The Statue Got Me High. -J2
I gotta say, I think the slow version was a million times better than the fast one. I think I understand why they felt it needed changing, but the slow version actually has power and feeling behind it. The album version doesn't seem as though they put much creativity into the arrangement.
That being said, if I was a professional musician I would hate it if my fans criticized my music based on the version that wasn't meant to be released. Sorry in advance, John and John. --Oddjob 20:38, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
I totally 100% and emphatically agree with Oddjob... The slow, unreleased version is so so much better I can't even listen to the version on Mink Car for fear that I will get the 'wrong' tune in my head! I like the deliberate, obsessive pace of the original... it's like a madman's diary... the haunting vibraphone backing... and the use of the word 'love', which really puts the song over the top. On Mink car it just sounds like they are pounding it out, and it flat-out ruins what I loved about the original. --Nehushtan 16:50, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
