[edit] Trivia/Info

  • Amy Rigby, the former wife of Hello Recording Club contributor Will Rigby, originally wrote this song for her 1996 album Diary of a Mod Housewife. However, this song appears to have been at least influenced by the 1960s song "Don't Break the Heart That Loves You."
  • Flansburgh says, "I first heard this songs covered by a few different singers in downtown NYC (including Laura Cantrell, upcoming Hello artist). I finally realized it wasn't a SoCal-rock standard but the work of a great songwriter named Amy Rigby. World Famous Blue Jay Jay Sherman-Godfrey delivers the Frippertronic solo."
