Trivia/Info
- According to John Flansburgh, this is the only TMBG song played using an alternate guitar tuning—the high E is dropped to a D for slide guitar playing.
- John Linnell in a 1998 interview: "There's a bass riff in "She's An Angel" that is totally taken from "Sweet Home Alabama." I think the statute of limitations has finally run out on that one, though. Or maybe not - maybe they'll come after us. That was consciously taken from that song."
- The band intended to replace the synth bass with an accordion bass, but they "got distracted," according to the Then: The Earlier Years liner notes.
- In several live performances in the late-2000s, Linnell started a downbeat drum machine loop on a Kaoss Pad for the verses.
- In many live performances, Flansburgh harmonizes during the second verse.
- This song has been covered by The Bruce Lee Band, Hey Mercedes, and by Charles Douglas on Hello Radio: The Songs Of They Might Be Giants.
