Mark Donato is a musician who has been involved with many bands that released EPs through the Hello CD Of The Month Club. He was a part of both Spondee, with Robin Goldwasser and Jay Sherman-Godfrey, and Flat Old World, with Goldwasser and Mark Lerner. He was also a guest on the EP released by Amy Allison And The Maudlins. From 1999 to 2000, he played drums as member of The Statesmen on John Linnell's tour to promote his solo album, State Songs. Donato has also done some nice solo work, and according to press surrounding his album The Old Joy, John Flansburgh calls him "one of the best songwriters around."
