Composed of Chris Anderson, John Lee and Andrew Ure, Muckafurgason toured with TMBG in 2001, promoting their independent, self-titled album that was produced entirely by John Flansburgh. They have since broken up.

John Lee Supertaster was written about Muckafurgason's John Lee, who actually is a Supertaster.

Chris Anderson now belongs to The Last Car.

Andrew Ure and Chris Anderson are in a band called The Quiet Ones, which is an indie kids' band.
