Hi! I'm SeaIntoTheLandem, also known as Riley. I'm mainly here for song interpretations, since there's not really much else I can contribute at the moment.
One of the first songs I remember hearing is Birdhouse In Your Soul, and as far as I know, it is the first song I remember knowing some of the lyrics to. (Not counting lullabies and nursery rhymes, of course.) A few years later, for my 9th birthday, I got an iPod Nano, with my mom's entire iTunes library dumped onto it. Among them were 5 TMBG songs, all of which I remember being absolutely obsessed with. 4 of the 5 songs were from Flood, but for some reason I never asked my parents about the full album. The other song was Don't Let's Start, which I especially loved even though it confused me. I lost that iPod around a year later, though.
Fast forward to June of 2024. Particle Man came up in conversation with my parents, and I had also been listening to Birdhouse a lot. A couple days after that, bored of my usual playlist, I decided to listen to Flood in full while doing yardwork... and it was all downhill from there. I decided to listen to TMBG's studio albums in chronological order after that (still working on that), so the change in sound after Apollo 18 was a bit jarring. I hated Mink Car at first, probably because its sound was so different compared to the big four and Factory Showroom. (It took me 4 tries to listen to John Henry in full for some reason.)
