Talk:P.S.O.K. (Paul Stanley Of KISS)

From This Might Be A Wiki

Homestar[edit]

Anyone else think the "alarm" voice sample (for example - at :12) sounds at all like the "Blue Las-Alert" from The Cheat Commandos? Of course, i know it's not...but it just reminds me of that sound. --Duke33 15:16, 15 Mar 2006 (CST)

I came to the talk page wondering if anybody made this observation. It seems so, 3 years before I finally made the realization. It was around 2 years earlier that the Cheat Commandos cartoons debuted over there AND the time The Johns collaborated with the Brothers Chaps. It's not entirely impossible. It sounds ever-so-slightly slowed down... --Homestar Golfer 05:26, 13 June 2009 (UTC)

Wow...this song has entered the song rankings list as #616 out of 616 songs...Yikes! --Duke33 11:32, 16 Mar 2006 (CST)

And it's not exactly rising steadily, either. I gave the song a 7. -CapitalQtalk ♪ 15:56, 16 Mar 2006 (CST)
wow..what a shitty 'song'...-boy from the place
Yeah, it's really not that good. I get the joke, Paul Stanley says stupid stuff in concert, but it's just not that funny. This song is bad. Not Nickleback's "Photograph" bad, but certainly a liability in the TMBG cannon. -- LitMatch 13:33, 23 Mar 2006 (CST)
I think its a shame. I love P.S.O.K. It's hilarious for me, having seen Kiss 3 times live. Yes, I know they are terrible, but they put on a hilarious show, and Paul Stanley spews out so much BS between songs. The best part is this poorly animated gauge on the projection screen that records the audience and the band will only continue if they band it loud enough. It was like the Sceam-O-Meter or something. Hilarious stuff. But other than the comedy, the song is cool, and well put together, and the Flansy-sung segment gets stuck in my head for days. I give it a 10. - Teddyleevin 00:31, July 21, 2007

Move?[edit]

In keeping with the norms of the wiki, should we move this page to capitalize the "of"? I didn't want to move it right away because some people may want to preserve the 'official' kind of name on theymightbegiants.com, which does lowercaserize the "of". ~ magbatz

I always thought that the more "official" name of the song was just "P.S.O.K." hence the "(secretly titled: "Paul Stanley of Kiss")" on http://theymightbegiants.com. Its listing on Podcast Highlights agrees with this. So if it's going to be moved, I say just move it to P.S.O.K.. --badqueso 12:48, 4 Jun 2006 (CDT)
Well, it was first introduced in Podcast 5A's description as "P.S.O.K. (Paul Stanley of Kiss)," quotes and all. I figure they've just been a tad lazy or hesitant about having the full title since then. Printing "Paul Stanley Of KISS" on a CD that's going to be for sale (without asking the band's permission) might not be the smartest move. -CapitalQtalk ♪ 12:52, 4 Jun 2006 (CDT)
I just read the newly added trivia to AKA Driver, and though I had heard it before, this conversation came to mind immediately. --badqueso 02:21, 6 Jun 2006 (MDT)

This is an amazing thing. More a piece of art than a song. (Mr Tuck) 15:11, October 23, 2015

Still[edit]

I can't remember the last time I listened to this song. It could even be as long ago as when the Clock Radio stopped working. But you know what still pops into my head on occasion? "You couldn't stop at number one... P-S-O-K!" Bravo, Mr. Flansburgh. --MisterMe (talk) 15:35, 3 October 2023 (EDT)
