...[edit]

Whenever I wanted to send a TMBG song to my friends, I wouldn't be able to because they would think it was too weird or the lyrics were too good for their comprehension. This is one of only two They Might Be Giants songs ever that I could send to my friends and they would say, "What an amazing, normal sounding indie rock song!" One of them is my favorite They Might Be Giants song, Best Regrets. The other one is this song. HOLY CRAP. This is beautiful. I love this song. It is by far going to be my favorite They Might Be Giants song to ever release on Spotify. This is now my 2nd favorite They Might Be Giants song. Thank you, Flansburgh. When you try to outshine Linnell, you never disappoint.--You&Me!! (talk) 10:41, 10 November 2021 (EST)

Flans sings like a girl[edit]

The character in Flans song appears to be leaving an abusive relationship, but it's open to interpretation as to what has happened. Musically it rocks a long. The band play really well on this and again you have to pick out the drums which are wonderfully played and brilliantly recorded. If there's a complaint it's that Flans chose to sing it himself. Back on Factory Showroom, he argued that he should be allowed to sing like a girl, and he has a go here. However, I can't help but wish he'd got his wife to have sung it, as I'd love to hear a version with a powerful female vocalist. Still, Flans wrote it, and it's a good song so why shouldn't he sing it? A solid tune. (Mr Tuck)
