- I believe the BOC sample comes from the fourth and final occurance of "Daddy/Daddy'll Sang/Sing Bass". Listen for the "whistle" at the end of the word bass. --SR

In the First Album Medley, Linnell sings the lyric "Daddy'll Sing Bass". Does this prove it, yet?--tehbagel ( o ) 00:56, 3 Jul 2006 (MDT)
- However, "Daddy sang bass" is sung in other renditions, see Boat Of Car (TMBG Mini-Brass) at least. Which goes only to show neither John nor John were really worrying about which sample they took. ~ magbatz 20:52, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
Daddy Sang Bass, Johnny Cash's song was obviously titled "Daddy Sang Bass". I don't get why anyone would think differently. -- Jason DeLima - ♥! - 21:33, 7 February 2010 (UTC)
- Because Cash uses both phrases. His song starts with the past-tense memory of the family singing together ("daddy/mommy sang") and asks - since some of them have passed away - whether the "circle" of the family will be "broken" (missing members) in heaven. Cash switches to the future tense to confidently affirm that they will all be together there. When they are, daddy will sing bass once again. --Nehushtan (talk) 13:05, 16 December 2020 (EST)
