After their show at University of Michigan earlier in the evening we heard rumours that there would be an intimate after show at Tower Records. We went there as quickly as we could and found out that all you needed to get in was a donation of food, so we ran down the street, bought a bag of non-perishable food, and took it back. They let us right in. We were there early, so we sat on the floor right at the front. I reached out toward an instrument stand, and managed to briefly touch "Excelsior", JL's accordion. The energy at this show was tremendous. I attended my first and second concerts ever that night, and both were They Might Be Giants.
