Trivia/Info
- "Stump the Band" was a segment of TMBG's live shows from 1992 to 1997, which highlighted TMBG's new live band. The band would ask the audience to yell out the name of another band's song, and TMBG would, after brief discussion, attempt to play the song. Many of these performances were recorded and gathered to form the Stumpbox bootlegs.
- Sometimes the band would do a similar segment called "Your Father's Favorite Song", in which they would play the favorite song of the father of one of the security guards. This didn't always work out, as described by a fan after a 1994 show in Denver.[1]
- TMBG insisted on never playing the same song twice for "Stump the Band"; however, inevitably the same songs kept being shouted, so TMBG moved on and replaced it with "Spin The Dial".
