Trivia/Info
- From the State Songs liner notes:
The Granite State is the only state with an Official State State. The State State of New Hampshire is New Hampshire. If you want to take that away from them, you'll have to pry it from their cold, dead fingers.
- John Linnell on All Things Considered - 1999-10-12:
"New Hampshire" was kind of the one I imagined as the big tour de force of band organ music. So I think I got a little too ambitious on that one. I wrote an arrangement that incorporated the glockenspiels and the drums and everything. And I was kind of imagining it being this huge majestic sound. And it actually came out pretty homely by comparison to what I was thinking, but I really like the way it sounded anyway.
- Along with Utah, the carousel organ used on the song is a Wurlitzer 165 found in Maryland's Glen Echo Park.
