Trivia/Info
- MTV News reported that this was John's first State Song created. Linnell said it sounds like a "football game song. But as I wrote more songs, they got farther away from sounding like traditional anthems."
- October 12, 1999 on All Things Considered:

- From the State Songs liner notes:
The Official State Stone of the Wolverine State is the Petosky Stone. Michigan has also adopted a State Soil: the Kalkaska Soil series. The State Bird is a terrifying airborne car with gigantic metal talons. The State Flower is the Apple Blossom.
