- This early recording of Cowtown may have appeared on the band's first original demo, as mentioned by Cecil Portesque on Podcast 46. It is slightly slower than later versions, and notably features live drums, mostly used in recordings from 1982[1] to 1984[2].
- The song was also one of the first recordings to be put into rotation on Dial-A-Song[3], and may have potentially been removed from the service after the song was re-recorded and released on the 1985 Demo Tape.
