This was the demo for "Always Coca-Cola", a radio advertisement created by John Flansburgh for Coca-Cola in 1997. While most of the audio bites heard would be included in the final version, the "Coke rules!", "Who's going to wear my sandals?" and "I like the fuzz" sections would later be re-recorded.
There are three other "Winter-themed" versions of this demo, which appeared on the Leaked 1999 Studio Tape.
- The first version includes the extra line "Winter adult rooms turning into Cola parties" to introduce the ad. It is also revealed that the full "Coke rules!" line was "Coke rules Winter time!"
- The second version is a shortened edit of the first, likely to fit a 30 second timeslot for radio airplay.
- The third version shortens most of the song and audio bites heard in the demo to make room for a record-scratching instrumental in the middle of the ad.
One of the melodies present in the ad also appears as a theme in the Mono Puff song, "Poison Flowers" ("Who's going to wear my sandals stained with Coca-Cola" / "Who's going to wear my sandals stained with cherry soda")
The "thirsty cyborg with..." line appeared in live versions of "Born In A Graveyard", which later became "Dan Vs. Cog".
