Talk:Gudetama's Busy Days

From This Might Be A Wiki

I love the lyrics but don't care for the melody at all. Not sure how to rate this one. —The thing Talk 11:01, 24 October 2018 (EDT)

No "bro"-ffense but I sort of think we should start calling him John Flynns-berg if he keeps writing topical songs like this. Music is no place for this kind of commercialist sentiment, or for politics. About EGGS? Give me a break youre Americans.... and New englanders at that.--WhatTheHeckLinnell (talk) 12:33, 26 October 2018 (EDT) Just my two cents though and I expect change back, @$$w1p3. Just my 0.02 cents.

Well...isn't the band entitled to write about whatever they want, not what fans think they should write? TMBG has done "commercialist" songs (see their work with Dunkin Donuts, for example) and has never shied away from political songs. Also, as far as your "American" complaint, one of their biggest and best songs, "Ana Ng", is about a Vietnamese woman. Plus, the band played a number of shows in Japan in the 1990s[1][2][3][4]. And if you don't like songs about eggs, then you probably shouldn't listen to "Albany". --MisterMe (talk) 13:53, 29 October 2018 (EDT)
About EGGS? It's barely even about the Gudetama character! How is obliquely mentioning a character's whose appearance is an egg, commercial? Is AKA Driver a sell-out to Vick's? If it was a jingle for Eggland's Best or something, sure...but really? CJSF (talk) 07:30, 31 October 2018 (EDT)

Flansy had this to say in response to a Tumblr question about the song:

"As for the topic, it is really just about feeling isolated from the world, even if you are in a crowded place and manically trying to keep up with your life. The character of Gudetama appealed to me because he is such a mopey sad sack-he seemed to fit."
There's more good stuff in the full answer. CJSF (talk) 20:55, 21 January 2021 (EST)
