  • When asked in 2014 via TMBG's Tumblr if the band would ever release a studio version of the song, John Flansburgh replied, "We've looked and it seems the studio version is totally MIA. We work too fast."[1]
  • There is a Beatles song called "No Reply"; however, it is doubtful that it inspired this song, as there are no other similarities between the two. Though equally unlikely, it may also be possible that this was inspired by the title of the Electric Light Orchestra's first album, released in the UK as Electric Light Orchestra but released in the United States as No Answer due to a misunderstood phone transcript.
