  • John Linnell, from a 2009 interview with Rolling Stone: "It was indeed written as the introductory theme [for Flood]. ...It seemed appropriate to inaugurate our major-label debut by having the listener pass through a ceremonial archway."
  • Trombone parts performed by Rick McRae.
  • In 2007, the band Dashboard Confessional released an album of cover songs entitled The Wire Tapes Vol. 1, which begins with a cover of this TMBG song. Instead of introducing Flood, however, the lyrics have been changed: "It's a brand new record of songs we've covered / We hope you like them, here is Volume One."
