I love hearing TMBG covers, but there's no information about this album at all. How can I get a hold of these songs? - Sean

I got all of these songs from the old Integrity Project site back when it was trying to be the new BLTBM. Is this something we'd want to make available on the site? It seems that there has been a good amount of interest in covers in the past few months. --badqueso 23:40, 15 Mar 2006 (CST)

I think, if nobody else is hosting them, they should go somewhere! 66.67.125.224 17:17, 5 Apr 2006 (CDT)

Finding WMBGT

It seems as though noone has this, but I'm hoping someone does. After noting that neither CapitalQ nor Duke33 does, I figured we should try to place it and archive it somehow and fast, lest it should be lost forever. So if anyone can help in bringing it back for the public, I'm sure everyone would appreciate it in the highest! --Luke 01:09, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

Hmm. Well, I know I heard the whole thing through at least once. But I don't think I kept the files. And if I'm remembering rightly, it was at the same site where I got the Four Of Two DAS demo-- the website looked orange or yellow, I think, if anyone knows that TMBG fansite. Also, other random images of it I remember involve a lightbulb, maybe... ~ magbatz 01:21, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
I'm going to be uploading the entire album to my server five tracks at a time since I'm on limited bandwidth right now. I have it set up as a podcast so you can just subscribe and iTunes will download them automatically. The link is http://lightingguy.info/tmbg/. Enjoy! JasonT 18:07, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
Aww, podcastitunes links only! What about us poor Linux guys who don't want to have anything to do with that? I don't know much about that stuff but I think that real mp3s would take just as much webspace upload matter. - Whirrrlwind (Woosh!) 11:28, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

I have it on MP3! --Gt2

I [pod]cast a vote also !

Brad just suggested to me I ask on this page > "who may have it ?". And I can see an early surge in "should we find it & post it ?" if another weighing in helps, then damn !, whoever can point the way to it ( or give it a home here ) . . please do so !

Also, does anyone know much about "Fingertips", a collection of "fleshed-out" full songs based on each Fingertip ? it's aparently downloadable on some "reckless" mp3 site in the UK... dodgy ??, no ?

You mean the Gannets! I don't know why an MP3 site could be considered dodgy, though. -CapitalQtalk ♪ 03:11, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

Does anybody actually have this?

I downloaded Hence The Name's version of Moving To The Sun off Napster back in the 90's by doing a search for "tmbg cover" or some such. The other 32 tracks remain shrouded in mystery since they don't seem to exist anywhere on the net.

This project should be archived here either just for fun/posterity or with a $5 price tag with all proceeds going towards hosting of the wiki or donated to THEY's favorite charity or something. Anything. I just want to hear it! Please? --Unmutual 05:35, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

I have a copy of it...It's really really large (114MB). I'll put it on the wiki for now, and we'll see how popular it is. If we get a lot of downloads, i may have to move it to one of those third party file sharing sites. --Duke33 21:30, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

Token Back to Brooklyn

The background music that plays -- can anyone place what it is from?

I'm not sure if the guitar is original or a sample, but the percussion that starts the song is known as the Amen Break, one of the most widely sampled bits of music that shows up in countless places. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amen_break Geko (talk) 18:29, 13 November 2015 (EST)

Space Suit

I remember at the time this came out the people organizing the project were trying to find more information on "Hoser" - the guy responsible for submitting the cover of space suit. The cover is the high point of the compilation for me (it rocks so hard!!), and I think it is at least as good as the original song. I was wondering if anyone ever stepped forward to take credit...?

The mystery is kind of cool though. Maybe its intentional?

Volume 2?

What would be really cool is if we could resurrect the follow-up that never happened.

Round about 2002 users of the alt.music.tmbg started compiling a second lot of covers. All the songs were recorded and submitted, a tracklisting appeared on the group, as did the cover art.

The intention of the organisers was to mass-produce a CD, paid for by advance orders. 10 years ago that seemed the gold standard - but now just the MP3s collected with the cover art would be amazing.

The track listing released to the newsgroup was:

1. Men from Earth - Put Your Hand Inside The Puppet Head
2. Spencer Owen - Mammal / Which Describes How You're Feeling (medley)
3. Los Hombres de Rock & Roll - Rhythm Section Want Ad
4. The Rachel Nevadas - Spy
5. Blue Peter Schnitzel - Sensurround
6. Brian Betancourt - Turn Around
7. Captain Ahab - Particle Man
8. Cornell Big Red Marching Band - Istanbul
9. Kevin Silvia - Dr. Worm
10. Brandon Turok - Till My Head Falls Off
11. Father Bingo & Legion of Decency - Moving to the Sun
12. The Fluid Imbibers - I Blame You
13. Triangleman - Ana Ng
14. Minor Technicality - Sleepwalkers
15. Mailbox - Nightgown of the Sullen Moon
16. In Need of Counseling - Cabbagetown
17. Daniel Benton - Darkened Corridors
18. TV's Kyle - Pencil Rain
19. Duncan Disorderly - Cowtown
20. Smokey and the Goose (or possibly "Alice and the Goose") - Piece of Dirt
21. The Last Forty Seconds - They'll Need A Crane

Could the organisers come forward with the goods? Or could all the artists be tracked down to resubmit 10 years on? I still have my track! (Puppet Head).

I don't know that this would happen, because a few years ago people tried, via the wiki, to organize a new tribute covering Dial-A-Song songs, and it was shut down by TMBG management, which did seem very strange since they were so welcoming of the first one of these. It COULD have been because it was unreleased stuff, or it could be just that they've cracked down more on things these days (which is what I expect, given that they won't let me host some things on my site anymore that I used to be able to all right). --Self Called Nowhere 23:03, 21 December 2011 (EST)
