Trivia/Info

It was recorded direct into the board. I know that. I think it’s the ElectroHarmonix micro synth into a Malekko Barker fuzz or a Zvex Fuzzolo and then it was double tracked and mixed hard left and right in stereo with some slight differences included. I bet there are actually two different things creating octave lower pitches in the chain BEFORE it hits the fuzz which is what is generating the sputtering ugliness. When I do things like this I will often line up a couple of different boxes that do similar things in a chain and A/B them as I work on the sound and one will inevitably win just because it fits the bill better.
