+ | :Just kidding, I think that's definitely the genesis of the song. At some point, Linnell realized he could make a song out of his struggle and hardly anyone would bat an eyelash. Just look at the random non-sequiturs in the latter part of the song ("self-enclosing whale", anyone?). In some ways, it's another side of "[[Right Before Showtime]]" (an unreleased song from 2015) and while those lyrics were formatted like multiple people speaking in a dialogue, these lyrics sound like one guy's efforts at convincing himself to commit to a topic...and failing miserably. - Just kidding, I think that's definitely the genesis of the song. At some point, Linnell realized he could make a song out of his struggle and hardly anyone would bat an eyelash. Just look at the random non-sequiturs in the latter part of the song ("self-enclosing whale", anyone?). In some ways, it's another side of "Right Before Showtime" (an unreleased song from 2015) and while those lyrics were formatted like multiple people speaking in a dialogue, these lyrics sound like one guy's efforts at convincing himself to commit to a topic...and failing miserably.
