- In a 2011 interview with Stereogum entitled "Under the Influence", John Flansburgh identified this song as a touchpoint for the music on the album Join Us:
Norma Tanega had a hit with this song in the mid-sixties, and as a small child I really dug its crazy point of view. She wrote a number of ballads for Dusty Springfield after this, but this is the song I can never forget.
