Phone-phreak-freak, lover of all things TMBG.
I grew up listening to Here Come The ABCs and was obsessed with ZYX (as my mom loves to tell me), and while I heard songs here and there over the years, it wasn't until I met my long-distance friend Sam Pencilrain that I really wanted to get into the band that he loves. I remember when we were in high school, I had asked what songs I should listen to in order to get into the band. He showed me Don't Let's Start. I thought it was the best song ever, and while I didn't go much further, I knew it was something special.
Sam kept sharing songs with our friend group, and finally, one day at the end of college, he had stumbled on Back To Skull and shared it with the rest of us. I heard She Was A Hotel Detective and I was HOOKED. The song kept popping up on my YouTube suggestions, and it was all downhill from there. I've now seen TMBG three times (twice with Pencilrain!) and hope for many more shows in our future.
Also, as of 2025/11/14, I have now attended my very first They Might Be Playing They Might Be Giants! I requested Lullaby To Nightmares and they accidentally played it twice. I was in heaven!
