Who has this?[edit]

Who exactly has this sampler? I guess a better question would be to ask where this information comes from? I did a bit of searchwork to get some information on the tracks and information here and found close to nothing (at the moment). There's a mention of Stewy The Dogboy on some old NYT article I found, but no other information other than that it was going to be a TV theme that never got officially released (apart from this bizarre sampler). It's also interesting to mention that TMBG Music had released two other legitimate samplers (Kids Sampler, What We Did This Summer) in 1999, which the wiki has interesting and legit information on both. The information on this, which comes from TODCRA, is just sort of vague and just out there. I'm not doubting the validity of this page, I'm just curious to know where this info comes from. :^) Snagwhag (talk) 17:34, 29 August 2019 (EDT)

Someone around the time of posting shared the download link/information in the Facebook group Miscellaneous T. The info comes from there, though I'm surprised/ashamed I forgot to include the link when i built the page. - Rev. Syung Myung Me (talk) 18:25, 29 August 2019 (EDT)
It was on Misc T? Oh dang! I'll go look it up. Thanks! Snagwhag (talk) 19:06, 29 August 2019 (EDT)

What's up with this?[edit]

What a strange sampler. It's packed with mostly instrumental tunes, or shorter versions of regular songs. And who picked these items from State Songs?! They're among the least interesting tracks! Would love to know the rationale here. Also, I'm rolling my eyes at the compilation's title, with its wink-wink-nudge-nudge quotation marks... --MisterMe (talk) 11:29, 10 April 2020 (EDT)

I think it's clearly for the entertainment/advertisement industry. A promo CD sent to agencies to say "this is our range of sounds," "this is what we can do with direction," "we can make a catchy hook for a short commercial". It's why they were making bank in the 2000s... -OldpineboxTalk 16:05, 10 April 2020 (EDT)
I guess that makes a certain amount of sense. It's still a bizarre set of tunes, even for this purpose, IMHO. --MisterMe (talk) 16:12, 10 April 2020 (EDT)

No cover image still?[edit]

Do we not have a scan of this? Does anyone on the wiki have this sampler? Giants Jubilee Mightathon (talk) 20:43, 31 January 2021 (EST)

The only copy in possession of a TMBG fan was a burned CD-R copy of the original, posted a few years ago in Misc T. -CapitalQtalk ♪ 22:59, 31 January 2021 (EST)

Out of all the songs[edit]

I love how they picked my personal favorite song off of any Apollo 18 singles, Siftin, to be on here. --You&Me!! (talk) 11:57, 9 November 2021 (EST)
