Trivia/Info
- This track was recorded in June 2003 during a session for Public Radio International's Studio 360, held at the Coney Island Museum in Brooklyn, New York. It features the TMBG Mini-Brass ensemble: Dan Levine on trombone, Mark Pender on trumpet, Nathan Durham on tuba, and Marty Beller on drums.
- This recording is very similar to another version of "Metal Detector" that TMBG's Other Thing recorded a few months later. Both tracks share an almost identical arrangement and horn chart, and the only difference in personnel is Marcus Rojas replacing Nathan Durham on tuba. The Mini-Brass version can be distinguished by its higher, more melodic trumpet solo, an additional hi-hat part during the verses, heavier echo on the drums, and a narrower stereo mix.
